Day 100
Day 099
Day 098
Day 097
Day 096
This week went by fast. Tuesday and Wednesday were my internship interview days. Unfortunately, on Tuesday there was some confusion with my interview and that had to be pushed to Thursday. My interview on Wednesday was really nice. The principal at the Kuhio was super nice and very personable. I almost forgot I was interviewing. I was really excited to be part of her program and told her I was excited to work with her. Then after my team teaching on Thursday I had my interview with my professor for FETCH. After talking to her about it, I was excited for that program, too! Now I'm unsure of what I should do. I really want to work in both places, haha. Anyway. Friday we had no school and my boyfriend and I were lounging around the apartment. I had the urge to go to Down to Earth to get some "mock chicken." So we get in the car and I go find my food. As we were walking around, I spot a guy who looks oddly familiar. And my boyfriend walks up next to me and says, "That girl looks like Jenny Lewis." I turn around and I'm like, "OMG because it IS Jenny!!!" (She was with Jonathan Rice!) I was freaking out, like literally hyperventilating. I really wanted to say Hi and tell her I'm going to her show tonight but I'm scared I'll be bothering her, haha. She's getting food anyway! But I did stand there looking like an idiot. Ugh. I told my sister about it and she told me I was lame, and to be honest, I AM!! WTF. So anyway, her show was AMAZING. My boyfriend bought us VIP tickets. If we would have arrived earlier I would have said fuck it to the VIP and went in front but we showed up late and had to stand in this long ass line, EVEN THOUGH we had VIP. It didn't make sense actually. I took some pictures but they all sucked cause of the lighting, she's really into the "red" lights. I was looking at the back of her head the whole time cause of the angle we had to the stage but whatever, I was there and listened to her live. She's always better live. But in place of a picture is a video so you can hear how amazing she is. Anyway, she played all the good stuff. Let's see if I can remember: The Next Messiah, Acid Tongue, Pretty Bird, Godspeed, Carpetbaggers, Jack Killed Mom, Rabbit Fur Coat, Under the Blacklight, A cover song: Love Hurts, Fernando, The Charging Sky, You are What you Love, Happy, Rise Up with Fist!... if I forgot one, at least you get the idea of HOW AMAZING THE SHOW WAS! Haha... anyway, I waited around for about an hour and half to meet her. Eventually, she came out and there I was star struck, AGAIN. She's so beautiful. She's also really sweet. Here's the worst part: She remembered me and my boyfriend from Down to Earth! She's like, "Weren't you at that store earlier?" And I was like, "Umm yeah but I didn't want to bother you! You were getting food!" She was like, "I saw you, you were standing there frozen." And then she imitated me. How embarrassing. But I told her my family loves her and that she is amazing. I probably could have told her how amazing she was for hours. But anyway, after a picture and an awkward stare down (what do I do now?), I told her thank you and that I hoped to see her again. I really hate meeting "famous" people... lol But! I loved meeting Jenny and now I can check that off my "Things to Do Before I Die" list. By the way, I am aware that this post is full of the word: "amazing."
OH! And a 100 days of pictures! How awesome that my 100th day lands on Jenny Lewis' show!! I am and will forever be star struck by Jenny Lewis.
