Getting to Know... Me!

Day 248
I find it difficult to write out "20 things" people might find surprising about me. I feel like I'm an open book and that I'm very predictable. In any case, I'm going to attempt to write 10 things you (whoever you are!) might find interesting/surprising about me today and then 10 on Monday.

1) I was a military child, I moved to Guam when I was four years old. I moved back to San Diego when I was eight, then back to Guam when I was twelve. After Guam, we moved to Japan. After four years of living in Japan, I moved back to San Diego. I stayed in San Diego until I was 18 years old and then moved to Oahu for college. I don't think I'm meant to stay in one place for very long. I've been on Oahu for four years now, I'm itching to move.

2) My sister and I aren't as close as I would like us to be. We're very different people and we express ourselves in very different ways. I believe that if we weren't related, we could be friends but not best friends. I don't mean that catty way, I just think we're very different. None-the-less, I love her very much and I wish we could be more apart of each other's lives.

3) I collect books. I always have good intentions and plan to read books, but I never get around to it. In all honesty, I'm just lazy. It's sad to say but I prefer the TV over books. I don't know where I got that from, but it's definitely something I want to change about myself.

4) I consider myself to be a fashionably relevant person. I could style up a girl but don't get me started on men. I cannot style men for the life of me. I wish I had more natural instinct about men's fashion. I also find it difficult for me to be fashionable living in Hawaii. The scene here is so different and I feel like I'm trying too hard when I wear red lipstick.

5) I don't have many friends. I think there's something about my personality that turns people away from me. I'm very content with being at home and I think this bores most people. I'm looking for people who don't mind hanging out and doing nothing. It would also be nice to meet someone who has the same taste in music, fashion, and hobbies as me. I like shopping, and I'm lacking someone who likes to do the same. Other than that, I'm very bad with keeping in touch with people. Out of sight out of mind? Well, something like that but not that harsh.

6) I'm very opinionated but I usually don't have the facts/evidence to back up my points. I find it embarrassing to have such passionate feelings toward particular subjects, but to not have the ability to express why I feel the way I do. Usually my reasons have to deal with religion because that's how I was raised. I was also raised in a very conservative household so my views tend to shift that way, maybe more by habit that actual opinion.

7) I'm a sucker for a pretty face. Whether you're a boy or a girl, I cannot get over the beauty that some people possess. It's so cliche, but most times, I wish I could steal their faces and put them on mine. I find a lot of beautiful bloggers and I always want to replicate their face in some way. I try to find out what makeup or face washing routine they use, and then I attempt to adopt that routine. I pick up a lot of makeup this way also.

8) I'm terrified of getting on birth control because I don't want it to break my skin out or make me gain weight. I'm not worried about the mood swings, I'm use to those, but I've grown up with relatively nice skin and I couldn't imagine it being anymore broken out than it is now. I also struggle with my weight so to possibly add to the difficulty wouldn't be doing much for me.

9) My boyfriend's birthday is a day before mine. His is the 29th of January and I'm on the 30th (obviously). There was a possibility of him being born on the 30th, which would have been weird if we got together. I use to be very enthusiastic about my birthday but now a days, I don't look forward to it. Just another reminded that I'm getting older and there's nothing I can do about it.

10) I am obsessed with taking care of my face. I have invested a lot of money into the Clinique line and honestly, I feel like it's the best investment I've ever made. I support Clinique 100% and always will, I'm sure. My boyfriend will vouch for me by agreeing that I am obsessed with not getting wrinkles. In fact, my nightly face washing ritual is the longest it's ever been. If I'm wearing make-up I start with the Take The Day Off Cleansing Milk, 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula or Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser, Liquid Facial Soap, Clarifying Lotion (x2), Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, an eye cream from Target, Pore Minimizer Refining Lotion, Acne Solutions Emergency Gel-Lotion, Acne Solutions Spot Healing Gel, and All About Lips (lip moisturizer). In the morning, I'm now doing the following but instead o the moisturizing lotion, I'm using: Superdefense SPF 25 Age Defense Moisturizer. I gotta have that SPF. Plus, I wear sunglasses to help stop wrinkles around my eyes. See, obsessed.

Well, stay tuned for the next 10. I'm off this morning for a day of hanging out with myself. I'm going to the mall and other places. On the hunt for Clinique Bamboo Pink lipstick. Wish me luck! Haha!

i have the clinique bamboo pink eyeshadow. love it! now i'm looking for more of a matte eyeshadow for daytime use vs. shimmery. i think the sun reflecting off the shimmer makes my wrinkles stand out more. hah! i wonder where you got your skin obsession? lol
